Information is collected about you as part of the assessment and treatment process. It is important that you are able to trust that your privacy is protected. As such, all disclosures and information is considered confidential between you and Dr Bek (Dr Rebekah Doley).
To support the security of your personal information this practice uses Power Diary as our online booking system, which is compliant with the Australian standards for online security and encryption.
Dr Bek is committed to preserving and upholding your right to privacy and confidentiality.
This commitment extends to online video-counselling sessions. As with face to face sessions, we will only share your personal information where you have provided your consent, or where the sharing of your information is considered appropriate or necessary.
For example, Dr Bek may be required to disclose your personal information without your consent when:
Information about you is subpoenaed by a Court or Tribunal in legal proceedings;
You or another person is at risk of harm;
The disclosure is necessary for the enforcement of the criminal law; or
Disclosure is otherwise required or authorised by law.
Should these circumstances arise, your personal information will only be released in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
In accordance with legislative requirements, electronic records and paper records are kept in secure storage.
